Brazil Imports – Collection of Seafreight & related charges and local charges

Sealand Logistics Solutions informs about important terms for collecting freights for shipments to Brazil.

Dear Customer,
We would like to inform you about important terms for collecting freights for shipments to Brazil.

Freight collect shipments to Brazil

Only Terminal Handling Charges Destination (THC) and Document Charge Brazil must be collected at Brazil in local currency for Brazil import shipments due to Brazil Central Bank Rules. All other local charges must be prepaid outside Brazil.

Freight prepaid shipments to Brazil

Generally all Sea freight & its related charges (as per below) must be prepaid & paid together at Origin, unless it is approved by our destination office for Freight Collect shipment.

Currently applicable charges related to Seafreight:

Emergency Bunker Surcharge (EBS)

Bunker Surcharge (BUC) or where still applicable Bunker Adjustment Factor (BAF)

Low Sulfur Fuel Surcharge (LSF)

Currency Adjustment Factor (CAF)

War Risk Surcharge (WRS)

Panama Canal Charge (PCC)

Special Equipment Premium (SEP)

Dangerous Goods Premium Seafreight (DGP)

Peak Season Surcharge (PSS)

Heavy Lift Charge (HLC)

Out of Gauge Charge (i.e. for overlength, overwidth, overheight)

Rental Charges (i.e. for Special Equipment Leasing)
Port Congestion Surcharge Origin (CGO)

If the Seafreight is approved to be collected, the above related charges must be collected too. If an Origin Landfreight and/or a Transport Additional Origin (Arbitrary) should be paid together with Seafreight and its related charges they have to be included into a Lumpsum Seafreight but not charged separately. Carrier Security Fee must not be collected in Brazil.
